Module 10 Summary

In module 10 I learned about the basics of data analysis. Data is a huge part of modern life, and you have to know what it tracks and how it is used. Since I turned 18 I started to get numerous spam calls and political ads and text. This is probably because I registered to vote, and my information was set to different databases for analysis.  This is just one example of many such ways organizations collect and utilize personal information.

E-commerce websites collect user data to better target consumers to increase the likelihood that someone spends more money. They use cookies and checkout information in an aggregated database to build a better picture of how consumers like to spend their time and money. I noticed when I do a Google search for something and then go to a new tab of Amazon, the product appears automatically.
